This is not the first visit of Congress president Rahul Gandhi to Goa, in fact, he keeps visiting this tiny little beautiful place as and when he gets time, but this time something seems to be special and his visit has become a talk of the town. Perhaps does this signifies that the popularity of congressman is grown amongst the people of Goa?
According to Conde Nast Traveller website Congress President Rahul Gandhi came down to Goa on Saturday on a “private visit” with his mother Sonia Gandhi and they were staying at a five star resort in Cavelossim in South Goa, and apparently on Sunday, they walked into The Fisherman’s Wharf for some seafood without the cover of any security.
The report published by the Times Of India stated that the picture of a Goan dentist’s chance meeting with Congress president Rahul Gandhi went viral on Monday. Within minutes, it evoked reactions from across the country.
The Goan dentist named Rachana Fernandes was apparently dining with her family at a popular seafood restaurant situated at Cavellossim when Rahul and his mother Mrs Sonia Gandhi entered the restaurant. “They sat on the table adjacent to our table,” said the dentist.
Though she found the man “very familiar”, she didn’t initially recognise Rahul. That was till she spotted his mother and concluded that their fellow-diner was indeed the Congress president. “When I saw him he smiled back at me, so after a while, I asked him if I could take a picture,” she said. “He said okay, but that he’d like to pay his bill first.”
Meanwhile, the the viral news of Mr. Gandhi meeting some dentist in Goa spread like a wildfire across all the news media portals in the country, and BJP did not stop taking jibe on it by asking Rahul to visit the recently opened Cable Stay Bridge on Mandovi river.

According to NDTV report If you are in Goa, why not visit the recently opened cable-held bridge, the BJP suggested Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, who was on a three-day break with his mother in the coastal state.
According to a Goa Congress spokesperson, the party president and Sonia Gandhi were on a private visit and there were no official engagements scheduled during their stay in Goa.
